1927c. GE 12" Oscillating Antique Desk Fan

1927c. General Electric Company, U.S.A., 12" Oscillating Antique Desk Fan

This model could be described as General Electric Company's "bread and butter" desk fan of the 1920s. This model can trace its lineage to the earlier cast iron ring handled versions introduced in the 19teens and continuously modified through the early 30s.

General Electric reduced the weight of this model by the late 20s when they began manufacturing this model in stamped steel. Finishes, blades and guards changed during the 30s, but G.E. continued to use a similar form of this motor and oscillator until the early 60s.

The fan in this gallery was restored for a client in Delaware. This model was originally available in dark green, but looks equally nice in our standard gloss black finish.

Some of the features of the 1927c. General Electric desk fan include:

  • Dimensions- 12" Diameter blade
  • Stamped Steel Base and Motor Housing, Cast Iron Oscillator Ring with Cast Iron Handle
  • Spring Tension Oil Wick System that Continuously Circulates Oil to the Motor Shaft
  • Solid Brass Blade and Trim
  • 3 speed operation with Oscillator Engagement and Disengagement
  • Easily Converts to Wall Mounting Position
